Our theme this half term is...
Rainforests
In year 3 the children will be learning about Rainforests. In this topic, children take a closer look at the mysteries of tropical rainforests. From the layers of the forest and its animal inhabitants, to the unique climate found in the tropics. They compare a British forest with the Amazon rainforest and begin to explore some of the observation issues surrounding the destruction of rainforest habitats.

Maths:
Recognise and show, using diagrams, equivalent fractions with small denominators.
Compare and order unit fractions, and fractions with the same denominators.
Add and subtract fractions with the same denominator within one whole.
Solve problems that involve all of the above.
Science:
Identify that humans and some other animals have skeletons for support, protection and movement, by focusing on skeleton types.
