Promoting 'fundamental British values' is an important part of children's spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. These include aspects like:

 

  • developing pupils self-confidence
  • teaching them right from wrong and to respect the law.
  • encourage children to accept responsibility for their behaviour.
  • help pupils to further tolerance and harmony between different cultural traditions.
  • encourage respect for others.
  • encourage respect for democracy.
