Welcome to Year 3.
Hello. I am Miss Taylor and I am the Year Three teacher at Fairmeadows. I love teaching! I cannot wait for another fun-filled year at school. I am thoroughly enthusiastic and motivated in creating a learning environment, which is built on trust, independence, respect, a love for learning and most importantly a lot of fun!
Outside of school, I love spending time with my family and friends, reading, listening to music and eating tasty food.
Mrs Corten will be working with us this year.
Key Information
Timetable
Homework
Reading - Children should read every day and bring their reading books daily. This is the most important way you can support your child with learning at home. Evidence of reading should be uploaded to Seesaw and added to the reading at home folder, the staff can help you with this if you get stuck!
Spellings - We will be sending home a list of spellings that we are using each week in our lessons. This is for your information. The children will be assessed at the end of every half term in school.
Time Tables - Times Table Rockstars should also be used daily to help children maintain their time table knowledge for at least 10 minutes. Each week we will award a Times Table Rockstars champion in the class for the child who has improved the most, earnt the most points and overall worked really hard.
Mathletics - Each week we will award a Mathletics champion in the class for the child with the most points that week.
Essentials - Each week, a knowledge organiser will be shared for the following week's essentials sessions. Please read these and talk about what you already know.
Learning Powers
Our learning powers run throughout school and underpin the core values we work to and hope to develop in the children.
The Learning Powers are:
These Powers underpin our curriculum aims and develop growth-mind-set. They also provide our children with the right start preparing for life outside beyond Fairmeadows.
Forest Schools
Forest School is an inspirational process that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in our very own woodland and natural environment. Children we have a session each week for the whole year.
Year 3 will be doing Forest School on Thursdays, beginning 12/09/24. They can do this in their PE kit as PE also falls on a Thursday, please just bring alternative footwear.
