Year 6 B

Welcome to Year 6B

Hello, I am Miss Bartlam I am one of the Year 6 teachers at Fairmeadows. I have been teaching here for over 10 years and I am looking forward to returning to Year 6 and supporting the children to reach their full potential. I believe that all children are capable of success and my aim is to ensure that all children have confidence in their own ability, as this is when the 'magic happens.' Once children realise that they can do something then they are more willing to try challenging tasks; then the learning is endless.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends and I have a 2 year old son who keeps me on my toes!

Year 6B will be supported by Mrs Wright. She has a wealth of experience in school and is a really valuable asset to the Year 6 team. Mrs Wain will also be supporting the group at different points in the day, using her experience to provide personal, social and emotional support.

Learning Powers

Our Learning Powers run throughout school and underpin the core values we work to and hope to develop in the children.

The Learning Powers are:

1. Enjoy Learning

2. Have A Go

3. Concerntrate

4. Keep Trying

5. Be Cooperative

6. Use your imagination

7. Be curious

8 Keep Improving

These powers underpin our curriculum aims and develop growth mind-set. They also provide our children with the right start, preparing for life outside and beyond Fairmeadows.

We also support these through our Learning Warrior Scheme which rewards pupils for exhibiting these qualities.

Forest Schools

Forest School is an inspirational process that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands on learning experiences in our very own woodland and natural environment. Children will have a session each week for the whole year.
