Year 6 A

Welcome to Year 6A.

Hello. I am Mrs Anwyll and I am so excited to be the teacher for the next school year with Year 6A. I am very passionate about teaching and I know we have a wonderful year ahead of us full of learning, laughter and growth. In our classroom we work together, this helps us to establish a calming learning environment where we treat one another with respect, kindness and compassion to support one another and our individual learning journeys.

When I am not in school, I spend my time with my family, football is a big part of our family life so I can mainly be found cheering my children on from the pitch side!  As the Forest School teacher, I of course enjoy being outside, whilst going to the gym keeps me active and opening up a good book is one of my favourite activities.

Mrs Wain will also be supporting Year 6A and we look forward to a fabulous year ahead!

Key Information

- Please bring your child's labelled book bag into school every day.

- Please bring a named water bottle. This must contain only water.

- Please only wear stud earrings at school and on PE days it helps if the children do not wear them.

- Come to school in PE kit on PE days.

- Come to school in Forest School kit on Forest School days.

- Please communicate with the office using Parent mail and contact Mrs Wain or myself through Seesaw.

Reading - Children should read at least three times a week and bring their reading books daily. This is the most important way you can support your child with learning at home. Evidence of reading should be uploaded to Seesaw and added to the reading at home file, the staff can help you with this if you get stuck!

Spellings - Children will be given 10 words to learn and will be tested each Friday. These will be placed on Seesaw and should be practised on Spelling Shed every evening for at least 10 minutes.

Time Tables - Times Tables will be tested each Friday. Times Tables Rockstars should be used daily to help children maintain their time table knowledge for at least 10 minutes.

Mathletics - Each week we will award a Mathletics champion in the class for the child with the most points that week.

Learning Warrior and Learning Powers

Our learning powers run throughout school and underpin the core values we work to and hope to develop in the children.

The Learning Powers are:

Enjoy Learning

Have A Go

Keep trying

Be Cooperative

Use Your Imagination

Be Curious

Keep Improving

These Powers underpin our curriculum aims and develop growth-mind-set. They also provide our children with the right start preparing for life outside beyond Fairmeadows.

We support these through our Learning Warrior Scheme which rewards pupils for exhibiting these qualities.

Forest School

Forest School is an inspirational process that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in our very own woodland and natural environment. Children we have a session each week for the whole year.

Please see a list of clothing for your child's sessions, children should wear Forest School clothing on their Forest School day.
