NEW MOBILE WEBSITE FOR PARENTS                                     Tue 13 Dec 2016

We have an exciting new feature to tell you about. We know many of you have been requesting that we update our parent page to work smoothly with handheld devices such as mobile phones and we are pleased to let you know that this feature is now live to the parents.

They do not need to download any apps or re-register; when they log into the website using a mobile device the system will know that this is the case and redirect them to our mobile friendly website.

The first time parents log in they will have the opportunity to take part in a small tutorial that explains the website to them so they have all the information they need to make payments for their children. There is also a user guide available on request should you need a more in-depth explanation of the site for parents.

We hope you enjoy our new website and if you or your parents have any questions at all, please contact us on 0845 388 5510 or email us at support@schoolmoney.co.uk.

    Kind regards
    The SchoolMoney Team
  • Basketball

Wed 23 Nov 2016 Mr Reeves

Fairmeadows got off to a flier at the basketball tournament as they lit up Pingle with some dazzling play and ruthless finishing.

The team were impressive as they won all four matches conceding in only one game as they ran away with each result. Winning 12-0, 22-0, 8-6 and 12-0 the team were over the moon with their qualification for next weeks District Finals at Pingle.

Mr Reeves remarked: "This was one of the most dominant displays I have seen from any basketball team over the past ten years. At times they were unplayable."

  • Football Festival

Fri 30 Sep 2016 Mr. Reeves

The football season for the Under 11 boys began today and Fairmeadows managed to come 3rd in their group narrowly missing out on the next round.

An excellent display from the team in the first match saw multiple opportunities spurned in a 0-0 draw with Linton, and, when Jenson Street had a goal ruled out for a foul on the 'keeper you started to feel it wouldn't be Fairmeadows' day. In the next match against a superb Heathfields outfit, an unfortunate mix-up in defence gifted them a goal against the run of play. Unable to recover, this meant Fairmeadows had to win their final game against a talented and determined Woodville outfit.

The best chances went to Woodville early on with marvellous saves from Logan Murphy in goal keeping Fairmeadows in the hunt. However, the tide then turned as super work in midfield from captain, Noah Baker, allowed 'Meadows to push on and create chances of their own. A wonderful run and cross saw Joshua Glover squeeze the ball just wide before nother mazy run saw Noah's last minute effort saved by the goalkeepers legs. 0-0 was a fair score but meant there was to be no progress for the team who had worked hard, played well and shown far more than results would suggest.

A good effort from the team: James Allcote, Noah Baker, Jamie Harrison, Henry Goring, Josh Glover, Corey Durdey, Jenson Street, Rhys Griffiths, Lucius Leslie and Logan Murphy,

Fri 30 Sep 2016 Mr. Reeves

A fabulous £140 raised today for cancer research. Cakes were baked, presented and consumed with enthusiasm as families came together at school in the fight to beat cancer.

Thank you to everyone who came along, volunteered and helped set up, clean up and make up the fantastic total raised.

  • Group Winners

Fri 30 Sep 2016 Mr. Reeves

Congratulations to the Girl's Under 11 football team who romped to victory in the group stage of the South Derbyshire District Championship.

An astounding record of P4 W3 D1 L0 was all the more impressive for the 4 clean sheets maintained at the back.

A slow start, a 0-0 draw with St. Edwards was followed by a 1-0 victory over Woodville thanks to a goal by Holly Wright. In the third game a splendid run, taking on 4 players culminated with a smashing finish from Olivia before Freya Hingley buried an opportunity in the final match to defeat St. Edwards 0-1.

The girls have qualified as group winners for next weeks finals. What a performance!

  • Goodbye

Fri 22 Jul 2016 Mr. Reeves

And so it is farewell to Mrs. Hodson-Walker, our headteacher and friend for over 10 years. Her legacy shall be an enduring one, a school committed to giving children the best and ensuring that the families in our community are welcomed and cared for.

We will all miss her humour and wisdom as she moves on to pastures new.

    Good luck and goodbye.

  • All's Fair in Love and Draw!

Mon 18 Jul 2016 Mr. Reeves

Congratulations to Bronte and Newton who drew for first place in the third Team Championship!

All year children from our four teams have been earning team points and competing in intra-school events to win the trophy which went to the final week of the school year!

With Nightingale having won the previous two years, it is delightful to see new teams basking in the glory of their triumph. With as little as 250 points separating the four teams it was tighter than ever and the spoils were shared!

Another exciting and high achieving year at our school!

  • Sporting Success

Mon 18 Apr 2016 Mr. Reeves

Well done to the Athletics Team who successfully made their way into the Indoor Athletics County Finals!

A superb performance form our children saw them compete against the very best from around the county.

    How very proud we are!
