Is your child ready for school & where to access support?

Here you will find helpful information about school readiness, age related expectations and additional support.

At Fairmeadows we understand that every child is unique. All children learn at different rates and in different ways. However we have outlined our expectations for children developing typically for their age below:

Derbyshire School Readiness - 10 key aims your child should be able to do by the time they start Reception.

What to expect, when?  - This document outlines the developmental milestones for children from 0-5 years old. These are the 'Areas of Learning' that we assess the children against in the EYFS. It also provides helpful tips on how you can support your child's learning at home.

However, if you do have any concerns your child is not meeting their expected milestones

our SENCO - Miss Sims is always on hand to answer any questions you may have.

The Derbyshire Local Offer - outlines services and support available for children with SEND and their families.

SEND at Fairmeadows - FAQ about additional needs

We can offer interventions and individualised support for children who are not meeting their expected developmental milestones.

We have a variety of interventions that we can use such as ECAT, ECAM, BR@P (Boost Reading at Primary), EYFS Talk Boost and bespoke programmes based on the childrens targets.
