Trip to Jewry Wall Museum
During our Romans topic, Year 3 went to the Jewry Wall Museum for an action packed day!
We started off having a discussion about Leicester in the Roman times and how the Romans changed our towns. Next, we spent time looking at Britain's timeline before engaging in a historical investigation whereby the children had a rare opportunity to handle Roman artefacts and decide on their uses. Following this, the children tried their hand at a Roman game, a matching activity as well as discussing Roman clothing, by trying some of the garments on! Afterwards, Year 3 also took part in Roman marching drills where they all thoroughly enjoyed charging at the adults! Finally, the children had some free time to look around the museum.
It was a fabulous day, which all of us very much enjoyed!
