Week beginning: Monday 16th May

Story of the week: Rainbow Fish

  • To be able to use words like shiny and dull to describe materials.
  • To be able to talk about the choices they make.
  • To be able to answer questions about what they have heard.
  • To be able to correctly sequence key parts of the story.
  • To be able to count a set of objects, and match with the right number.
  • To be able to correctly form numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Week beginning: Monday 9th May

Story of the week: The Little Raindrop

  • To learn about where rain comes from.
  • To find out what happens to rain once it has fallen from the sky.
  • To create dances to match some of the phrases from the story.
  • To be able to paint with coloured water.
  • To find out what happens to water when the sun shines on it

Week beginning: Monday 2nd May

Story of the week: Barry and the Hairy Scary Monster

  • To be able to describe their own monster talking about it's colour and size.
  • To be able to imagine and pretend.
  • To be able to count up to 15 objects.
  • To begin to understand symmetry and notice a symmetrical pattern.

Story of the week: Barry The Fish With Fingers

  • To be able use our senses to explore a real fish.
  • To be able to use adjectives to describe a real fish.
  • To be able to add labels to a picture.
  • To be able to talk about likes and dislikes.
  • To be able to write their own name without help.

Week beginning: Monday 18th April

Story of the week: The Crocodile Who Didn't Like Water

  • To be able to talk about the things they like and don't like.
  • To be able to listen to their partner and remember what they have said.
  • To be able to join boxes using found materials.
  • To be able to create models to look like characters from the story.
  • To find a matching pair.

Week beginning: Monday 11th April

Story of the Week: The Big Red Bath

  • To be able to talk about their own bath time routine.
  • To be able to name the key characters from the story and talk about the story setting.
  • To be able to understand and use words like: full, empty and half full.
  • To be able to change the ending of the story.
  • To be able to think of words to describe water.
