Riding High

The Fairmeadows football team is riding high, second in the league as they got the second week of matches off to a winning 9-0 start. The other games were less thrilling as Fairmeadows lost 6-1 to Heathfileds before facing an incredible Melbourne team, who were lucky to escape with a flattering 3-1 win.

Top scorer and captain Owen Durdey continued his goal scoring form with three goals on the night taking his season tally to 13, whilst Theo Baker scored an opening game hat-trick to take his tally to six one ahead of his brother Noah who sits proudly on a tally of five after a hat-trick in the same match! James Manly retains his eye for goal with his fourth of the season whilst Man of the Match, and stalwart defender/playmaker Robbie Harrison dominated at the back and scored an excellent goal, beating three players on his way to helping us win 9-0.

Liam has done wonders in goal and has a record of three clean sheets from six matches.

Just one point behind leaders Pennine Way and with plenty more games to come, the future looks bright for these young players.

Well done to the team so far.
